The Standard Safe Chat (also known as Regular Safe Chat) is a chatting mode that is available to players. Unlike Ultimate Safe Chat, players who use the Standard Safe Chat can manually type sentences using a chat bar in the toolbar.


  • July 23, 2007- players can no longer type numbers.
  • October 28, 2011- the quick chat phrases feature- which was tested in the Beta Team- was launched.
  • April 5, 2013- Players can now type apostrophes ( ' ) and have more than 2 exclamation marks (!) and question marks (?).


  • The message length limit is 48 characters.
  • Famous Penguins controlled by the Club Penguin Team can type numbers.
  • Swears are usually blocked by filters, and result in a ban.
  • Some messages that you send could be blocked by Club Penguin's filters.
  • As a common error, sometimes regular words can be blocked by accident.
