The Prototype Sled is a special sled invented by Gary the Gadget Guy. It is made of random parts from around the Club Penguin Island: a searchlight from the Town Center, red cables from the Night Club connected to tea cups from the Coffee Shop and to the Running Wheel, a pot from the Electric Stove as the steering wheel, a chair from the HQ attached to the Chalk Board, along with skis, ropes, coil springs, and 3 different types of fasteners.
The Prototype Sled was first used in PSA Mission 2: G's Secret Mission, and introduced the problem into the story. Secret Agents were to test the sled and then report to G to explain the results. During the test run, the sled falls apart and agents crash in the wilderness, home to wild puffles. Agents then follow the instructions on the Survival Guide to survive by using parts of the sled. After the agents were rescued, the agents would report to G and tell him the sled fell apart. The sled was rebuilt and on display in the Gadget Room.
In Club Penguin: Game Day!, it is on display at the Dock in Story Mode, on a stand with the title "CONCEPT SLED", and is the location of the Black Electric Guitar for Team Green's Ski Village challenge. In the Sled & Slide game, an improved sled is used, designed to handle 4 penguins at once, but it still breaks from ramming into ice and snowmen push off all of the penguins.

- In the videogame Club Penguin: Game Day!.
- Although thought to have been destroyed in the Popcorn Explosion, it appeared at the Cove as trash that was picked up by the crane during the Marvel Super Hero Takeover 2013.
