Tubular Tech is an adventure in Club Penguin Island. It is received from Rookie, and is the third episode in Chapter 1: Pick of the Year. During this adventure, the player must track down the very fast jet tube as it flies all over the island.
In order to play this adventure, the player must complete Ep. 2 - Fixer Upper and be at least Rookie rank 2.
Plot
The adventure starts with Rookie, in the jet tube he received from Gary at the end of the previous adventure, stating how amazing it will be for Mt. Blizzard tube races. Rookie "prepares for blast off" and starts counting down from 10, but while the tube is charging, it blasts off before he can get to 7, and he falls out. The tube then flies all over the mountain before crashing at the Beacon Boardwalk. The boardwalk must then be searched for the tube, which has fallen on top of the Wish Squid fountain by the water slide. Before it can be retrieved, it flies off again, this time to the Coconut Cove. There, is it now located on a palm tree on the east end of the cove, between the entrance to the Sea Caves and the zipline. However, again, the tube flies away before it can be caught, this time back to Mt. Blizzard.
At the mountain, it flies around some more before crashing into the tube lift at the mountaintop. Once the player gets back up to the top, Rookie suggests sneaking up behind the tube, but Gary then mentions there is a glitch with the tube's avoidance system, and the engines must be extinguished before it can be approached. To accomplish this, several snowballs must be thrown at it, which causes it to shut down. However, the lift is still broken, and Gary asks the player to repair it, which is done by inserting several belts onto gears. After it is fixed Gary commends the player's work, and Rookie states that he will stick to using normal tubes. Jet Pack Guy appears and says that he saw smoke and asks what happened. Rookie tells him there was a tubing accident, but Jet Pack Guy does not want to ask any further, and proceeds to ask Rookie if he is ready for a safety check he requested. Rookie says he is ready, and Jet Pack Guy says he will see him soon, and leaves. Rookie then states he will make the mountain so safe it will "hit visitors like an anvil". The player then receives the Tropical Tee unique item, 100 coins, and 60 Rookie XP.
Trivia
- On November 1, 2017, the XP rewarded for completing this adventure was changed from 80 to 60.
- In the 1.9.0 update, the coin reward was changed from 50 to 100.
