The Wiki's Vote Page is made to hold all kinds of votes.

When a vote is held, you will be allowed to sign your username, using four tildes ~~~~

Each vote will be published in this way:

==<Vote name> (0)==
:Suggested by <your name> and confirmed by <administrator name>
===For (0)===
===Against (0)===
===Comments===

Nominee Notice: After being nominated, you can enter reasons on why you should be nominated next to the "nomination sentence". A vote closes when 14 days is up. The vote difference is calculated by the number of votes "for" subtracted by the number "against". The user option with the most vote differences wins.

Voter Notice: You must vote in either "For" or "Against". If you vote in for, you have to sign underneath the "For" heading. To do this you have to type this in:
#~~~~

After you have signed it, you must change the number in the brackets up by 1. (e.g if it was at 3, it means 3 people have already signed it. Change it to 4 when you sign it.) This is also the same with the number by their name. If you vote for, you must also increase the number beside his or her name by 1.

Please remember to use "#" instead of the usual "*", because it numbers the votes making it easier to count them.

You can also remove your vote. If in any case you change your mind, do not remove your vote completely, just strike it out and move it to the back of the list.

Please discuss with an administrator before creating a new vote!

Please create votes under this line:

Forum Section: Ask an Admin! (+10)

Suggested and confirmed by Roger6881

Hello Club Penguin wiki, I have an idea, a goal, an ambition to which I will share with you today: After looking through countless forum posts I noticed an area missing. What is that area you might ask? Communication. More specifically, community. I attempted to find a solution to make it seem more 'forum like'; I searched for an idea that was popular among forums. I finally found one: ask a moderator anything. Naturally I thought this was a great idea to get to know your moderators, or, to put it in wikia terms, administrators.

This feature will allow you to freely ask questions (any spam will be deleted) as long as they are in the policy, anything. Want to know what my favorite book is? What about how cake vs pie originated (it's hilarious, I have to say!) Well, now you can.

Each respective administrator will get a forum for you to post on. Like the trial version, we might expand it!

    • Yeah, I was thinking once the question has been asked, do not ask for it again. This can be explained in one huge 'master post' at the top of the forum. Maybe a limit on how many questions asked as well. We can only ask so much, you know? --Roger6881 (talk) 09:03, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

    • Pretty much. But it is for those talk page messages, and to be honest a general goal of a system supports the goal better than a thing that can be used for either/or. I've never been asked what my favorite berry is, for example. --Roger6881 (talk) 09:12, August 15, 2014 (UTC)

Removing Player Card and in-game images from Custom T-shirt list (-2)

Suggested and confirmed by Kallie Jo

Recently, about 200 player card/in-game images were added to the Custom T-shirt page. While player card and in-game images can provide a different aspect of the particular item's appearance, it seems the appearance barely differs. Plus, having 200 images in a table is never a good idea (it really clogs up the table, and wikitables were just plainly not meant to have 200 images stuffed in them). It makes loading time unnecessarily longer, even when each of the images are only 64px in width. I think having that many images on a page or in a table actually makes the whole thing counterproductive. This vote would only keep the icons of the custom t-shirts.

  • Most items in Club Penguin have similar icon, player card, and in-game images, so saying "the appearance barely differs" is a weak argument. In that case, should we also remove the player card and in-game images from every other item article as well? Of course not. Also, if you look at the other Custom Items articles, all of them have in-game and player card images too (except for Custom Furniture, of course). Why should we remove those images from only one article? That doesn't make any sense. As it is now, the table loads pretty smoothly, even after clearing my cache. If you are about to vote, you can even test this for yourself before voting. It is also perfectly formatted and doesn't look clogged up to me. I don't see a reason to remove the player card and in-game images from the table. --Hey.youcp Surfboard Pin 23:39, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
    • The player card and in-game images not differing much from icons is only a strong argument with the fact that we have player card and in-game images usually only for items that have their own page, while these in-game and player card images are all in one page/table. I find them redundant. The images take a while to load for me, maybe you have faster internet. I'd say the majority of users probably have an internet speed that would make that page take longer to load than yours. I'm only bringing it up for this page because of how many player card/in-game images are on the page and in the table (no other 'custom item' pages have this many). Kallie Jo (talk) 23:50, August 17, 2014 (UTC)
      • While no other custom item articles have 201 images, the Custom Hoodie list comes pretty close to that with 144 images, and the amount will only increase if Club Penguin decides to add more of the same type of custom item. The same goes for the other custom item articles. I don't think this vote is a solution. If this was a vote to remove the player card and in-game images from all custom item articles, then it would be different. However, removing the images from only one custom item article is just inconsistent. --Hey.youcp Surfboard Pin 00:31, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
  • Well.. im kinda skeptical about this. To begin with, there are exactly 201 images on this table, each one has small dimensions. Each row has images with a size of roughly 20kb, and the total images' size is about 1.4MB, so even if you are with a terribly slow internet connection, i doubt if loading time for 99.9% of the clients with the "faster" internet connection would take more than 8 to 10 seconds, tops. As the images are placed in a collapsible box that is hidden by default- which also takes 2 to 3 seconds to be collapsed, by the way- and is placed in the midddle of the page, i don't see why anyone would open the page, expand the box and scroll straight to its bottom before all images visible on his screen have loaded. And in addition, if images' loading becomes a big problem, we could sort them in a gallery: wikia uses the webp format for gallery images, which would cut the size of all Custom T-shirts' images by about 70% a will thereby reduce loading time (or we could replace the wiki file links with the webp image URL). But loading time is something that still exist and cannot be escaped- whether you point an image to some image URL, it would take the image a while to load, and if you pre-load it by simply adding a DataURI link instead, which wont require requesting that image from another server, the overall webpage would take extra time to load. I just don't see a reason to start dealing with laoding times and such. Penguin-Pal (talk) 06:00, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
  • While icons are important, we have those images, and I haven't experienced any delay on what I normally would. The more organised content the better.--Roger6881 (talk) 08:26, August 18, 2014 (UTC)
  • We need this images for two reasons. One, it shows what they look like in different aspects. Two, I need them for my own person use. And I have not got any lag from the pictures. That's an opinion. It seems fine to keep them and there is no point having a vote on this. Yoda sprites TheYodaKing Yoda sprites

Changing talk pages to message walls? (0)

Suggested and confirmed by Roger6881

Alright, so I just think I'd throw this out there: message walls. If you don't know what they are, they are basically forum posts incorporated into our 'talk pages'. This was originally voted for in 2012, but I've decided to 'revive' it to see what the community thinks.

The purpose of message walls is a clearer way of showing messages in a format that's easy to follow and self-archives; every so many messages you get it turns it into a page you can find at the bottom.

Are you like me who just gets annpoyed when your message does not have a title? Or when a signature is not used? Well, the message wall shows this without you having to do a thing. How cool is that? Very.

  • I'm not a huge fan of message walls. Even though talk pages are not perfect, message walls are just too limited, and don't provide as much flexibility. One of the reasons i don't really like it is because all replies are stacketd in a sequence, which can sometimes result a bit of a mess. Penguin-Pal (talk) 11:15, August 18, 2014 (UTC)

  • Honestly, no offense, but I HATE message walls. My personal issue with them is that it makes it too easy for other users to come into conversations, an opportunity which trolls tend to be quite fond of. Changing the vote system for RFA, POTM, IOTM, FA and FI (+9)

Suggested by Super Miron and confirmed by Penguin-Pal

Currently, you can vote for one person/item/article/image to increase their/its vote difference and then vote against everyone/everything else to decrease their vote difference – this is unfair because the nominee with the largest vote difference wins, and not all nominees with a positive vote difference.

When this vote passes, you can only vote for one nominee, and whichever gets the most votes wins.

  • Would it be better to incoporate a comment in 'against' votes; and if it's not a valid reason like "This user banned more/I don't like the article," then we remove it? --Roger6881 (talk) 13:57, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
  • Totally Support this idea. This would make the calculation for the % of overall votes each candidate gets in the POTM Report much easier as we no longer have to count the against votes. This proposal also makes voting on the wiki much more similar to real-life votes (like in a presidential election, you would only vote for a candidate, but you won't vote against someone else, right? :P) --Rowboat PinDps04talk 14:05, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
    • (almost forgot to mention this, this is actually quite important :p) However, if there is only one eligible candidate in the votes, then I think the current voting system should still apply. The candidate would have to get more for votes than against votes for his nomination to pass. Of course, if my "grant trial option" voting proposal gets passed as well, then if the candidate get the most votes for grant trial, he will be granted a trial instead. --Rowboat PinDps04talk 14:10, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
      • Good point, though, we would have to start every single vote with an against section (unless multiple are nominated on the same time), and folks that voted against will have to stay tuned. Penguin-Pal (talk) 15:29, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
        • You're right, so I think we should divide promotion forums into 2 types: promotion votes and promotion approval. In promotion votes, more than 1 user can participate in the votes, and just as roger suggests, the candidate with the most number of votes win, where against votes will be abolished. In promotion approval, only one user can be nominated for a post, and if the user receives more for votes than against votes, then he should be promoted, or if he receives the most number of grant trial votes (if my proposal gets passed), he will be given a trial. We should specify which type we are conducting before allowing nominations. --Rowboat PinDps04talk 15:44, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
  • Makes sense. We can add it to the "Voter Notice." --Hey.youcp Surfboard Pin 21:09, August 20, 2014 (UTC)
